❤️Advance ER Supports the 28th Annual Katy 5K and Friends of the Katy Trail
Hosted by Friends of the Katy Trail, this beloved September event brings together thousands of runners, walkers, families, and local businesses to celebrate wellness, community, and the preservation of one of Dallas’s most treasured outdoor spaces—the Katy Trail.
This year, Advance ER is especially honored to have Dr. Larry Pettit and his band, The Rust Band, performing live at the event. Dr. Pettit is not only a highly respected board-certified emergency physician with more than 25 years of experience, but also a talented musician whose passion for community engagement reflects the heart of our organization.
The Katy 5K is much more than a race—it is a celebration of health, connection, and Dallas community spirit. Proceeds from the event help Friends of the Katy Trail maintain and enhance the 3.5-mile urban trail that serves as a premier destination for recreation, wellness, and alternative transportation in the heart of the city.
At Advance ER, we believe caring for our community extends far beyond our walls. Whether supporting local nonprofits, participating in charitable events, or providing 24/7 emergency care to Dallas families, our mission remains the same: to be there when our community needs us most.
We are honored to support the Katy 5K and celebrate alongside thousands of Dallas residents at one of the city’s most anticipated annual traditions
🤝 Advance ER + Austin Street Center: Supporting Health, Dignity and Hope In Our Community
At Advance ER, we believe caring for our community means going beyond the walls of our emergency rooms. We are proud to be involved in the annual September event with the Rotary Club of Park Cities Foot Care Clinic at Austin Street Center, an initiative dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Dallas. Each year, Rotary volunteers, healthcare professionals, nursing students, and community partners come together to provide essential foot care, health checks, new socks and shoes, and personal-care supplies. In 2025 alone, approximately 130 people received foot care and basic health screenings, while 200 care packages were prepared with essential toiletries and personal-care items.
Our involvement in this initiative reflects Advance ER’s commitment to compassionate, accessible healthcare and to treating every person with dignity. Something as simple as clean socks, properly fitting shoes, basic toiletries, and attentive foot care can make an enormous difference in someone’s comfort, health, and sense of dignity. We are honored to support the Austin Street Center and Rotary Club of Park Cities in this annual effort and to help provide practical care and human connection to members of our community who need it most.

✨Nourishing Families, Supporting Hope: Advance ER and the Ronald McDonald House
Advance ER is proud of our ongoing commitment to the Rotary Club of Park Cities and the Ronald McDonald House by preparing meals for families of hospitalized children on the third Monday of every month. We aim to provide comfort and care to families during an incredibly challenging time, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community
It is a privilege to contribute our time and compassion to an organization that brings warmth, support, and hope when it is needed most. This ongoing community partnership is one of the many ways we continue to demonstrate our commitment to caring for families beyond our walls.

🎃💙Advance ER + Community Partners of Dallas: Caring for Kids Beyond Our ER Walls:
At Advance ER, our commitment to children doesn’t end when they leave our emergency rooms. We are passionate about pediatric care and about supporting the children and families in our Dallas community in every way we can. That’s why we are proud to partner with Community Partners of Dallas and participate in their NorthPark Pumpkin Patch and Change is Good initiative, taking place October 1-November 1, 2026, in Center Park.
Admission to the NorthPark Pumpkin Patch is free and open to the public! On October 4th, there will be a carnival with rides and fun for all. Tickets for that are on sale now.
Join us for a fun and memorable fall experience while shining a light on an important cause. As Advance ER participates in this year’s event, we are especially excited to be part of Change is Good—a wonderful reminder that even the smallest acts of generosity can create meaningful change in a child’s life. Just as we care for children when they need medical attention, we believe in showing up for them in the moments beyond the ER, too. We are proud to stand alongside Community Partners of Dallas and NorthPark Center to support Dallas children and help make our community a healthier, safer, and more compassionate place for every family.
Every month, we proudly donate comfort items to Community Partners of Dallas (CPD) in support of their mission to restore safety, dignity, and comfort to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma. These include backpacks filled with glow-in-the-dark blankets and pillows—items chosen not only for their practicality, but for the reassurance they bring. These comfort items offer warmth when a child has no personal belongings, a sense of security in unfamiliar surroundings, and a bit of wonder through glow-in-the-dark stars and patterns that help children feel less alone at night. For many, this becomes the first stable possession they have during a frightening and uncertain time.
Through these donations, Advance ER is honored to help CPD ensure every child receives something new, comforting, and meaningful—a small but powerful reminder that they are valued, cared for, and never alone.
