Emergency Room Nurse - FT/PRN (Nights)

Advance ER – Dallas, TX

We are seeking a FT NIGHT SHIFT and PRN NIGHT SHIFT Emergency Room Nurse. You MUST be available to work the hours of 7pm-7am to be considered for this position.

  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, family members, and significant others in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Promotes patient’s independence by teaching patient and family members to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to evidence-based best practice standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following company policies and procedures, the standards of care set by the state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other applicable governing agency regulations.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with infection control procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assesses incoming patients, addresses their medical and personal needs and prioritizes their care based on the principles of triage. Examine patients to obtain information about their condition. Obtain, compile and record medical data fully and concisely while maintaining the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains nursing supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies and notifying management to place order for needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies and documenting receipt as needed; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • RNs working in our emergency departments must be able to adapt to changes in workload assignment.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains a cooperative and collaborative relationship among health care team members by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Remains calm and objective under stressful situations.
  • Participates and contributes to ongoing Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement projects.
  • Perform all tasks required to document and care for observation, transfer, and discharge patients
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during exams/procedures and assists with other patient treatments
  • Responsible for application and documentation of restraints and maintains precautions; collect, report, and document data related to patient safety/emotional/physical needs
  • Operate lab equipment, perform point of care testing and quality controls:
  • Running lab equipment QC daily or every 30 days as indicated by manufacturer per instrument
  • Documenting corrective action when QC is out of range for lab equipment
  • Ensuring all maintenance is performed and documented per lab instrument
  • Maintaining proper draw order of lab tubes
  • Labeling tubes, secondary devices, and specimen(s) at the patient’s bedside
  • Performs proper preparation and requisitions for send out lab specimens.
  • Maintain knowledge of the operation of lab instruments, including but not limited to, Medonic, Triage, Piccolo, UA instruments (turning on/shutting down, running samples, reporting results)
  • Use proper PPE in the lab, during specimen collection, and during patient care
  • Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored meetings as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
  • Current registration and licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the state or a Compact state.
  • 2 years of recent emergency room experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through American Heart Association
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and interested in assisting with quality emergency patient care
  • Computer Experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Radiology/CT Technologist FT/PRN (Nights)

Advance ER – Dallas, TX

We are seeking a FT NIGHT SHIFT and PRN NIGHT SHIFT Radiology/CT Tech. You MUST be available to work the hours of 7pm-7am to be considered for this position.

The Radiology/CT Technologists provides high quality Computerized Tomography and Radiographic studies, practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed. Also performs a variety of tasks in an often hectic environment that require a high degree of skill, confidence autonomy, the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Radiology/CT technologists working at Advance ER are proficient in laboratory functions and frequently assist in performing various laboratory tests.

Demonstrates excellent customer service sills, holding self and others accountable in meeting the mission, vision and goals of the company.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiology Technology.
  • Minimum of 12 months of current experience performing Computed Tomography (CT) and Radiographic procedures in an emergency setting or another high-volume area is required.
  • National certification from the ARRT is required.
  • Current licensure by the state regulatory agency.
  • Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and interested in assisting with quality emergency patient care
  • Computer Experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
