Thomas Allen

Dr. Allen is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in high-acuity emergency and trauma care. He completed medical school at Oregon Health & Science University and returned to Texas for his emergency medicine residency at UT-Hermann Hospital.

Throughout his career, Dr. Allen has worked extensively in major trauma centers and has served as Medical Director for a Level II Trauma Center, as well as Medical Director for an air ambulance service. At Advance ER, he also brings a strong focus on longevity medicine and proactive health strategies — helping patients think beyond today’s emergency and toward long-term wellness.

In 2026, Dr. Allen was honored as our Community Partners of Dallas donor physician, supporting Advance ER’s backpack initiative for children who have experienced abuse and neglect — a cause that reflects his deep commitment to caring for both patients and the community beyond our ER walls.

Dr. Allen has lived in McKinney, Texas for 16 years and maintains a ranch in Howe, Texas, where you’ll often find him driving a tractor, raising animals, and planning what he hopes will soon be an organic garden. He has been married to his wife, Alisha, for 23 years and is a proud father to their daughter, Cameryn, who is heading off to college.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Allen enjoys basketball, scuba diving, hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family.
